An occupational health referral is an independent medical assessment. We provide you with a prognosis of an employee’s medical wellbeing so that you are guided to make the right business decision. The occupational health report can be requested for a range of health reasons such as:

  • Long-term absence
  • Is the employee’s medical condition genuine
  • Returning to work after agreed long-term absence [e.g. operation]
  • Regular absence for short periods
  • Under performing at work and an underlying medical condition may be suspected
  • Recovering from an injury or accident
  • Job role
  • Equality Act issues

The employee in question is referred for an assessment with an Occupational Health Physician. A report will be issued to the manager who made the referral.
[Please note the process does not involve any treatment]
